The Wellington ICT Graduate School (WICTGS) is delighted to announce the appointment of Lynda Turner as its new Director. The appointment follows a search for an outstanding leader to take the School to the next stage of its development.
Lynda has over twenty years’ experience predominantly working in marketing and account management roles within the ICT industry. She has a broad range of experience from product development and market management to business development and account management.
“Lynda brings a wealth of experience from her many roles in the ICT industry and her network and understanding of the sector will be of great benefit to the School as it continues to grow. The Board looks forward to working with Lynda.”, says Tim Hurdle, Chair Wellington ICT Graduate School.
WICTGS is uniquely positioned to deliver skills for industry and cater for an increasing demand of ICT sector graduates in New Zealand. Having a great understanding of business and the appropriate tech and soft skills employers seek is imperative to the School’s leadership and success.
Lynda says she is thrilled to begin her new role as director of the Wellington ICT Graduate School, boosting tertiary achievements and building the Schools connections to meet industry needs as her top priorities.
“I look forward to working with the talented Wellington ICT Graduate School team that has been formed to deliver against the core objective of producing industry-ready graduates for the workforce”, says Lynda.
“I intend to focus on strengthening the industry engagement to ensure industry involvement to further develop the school and ensure the Wellington ICT Graduate School is relevant in meeting industry needs.”
The Wellington ICT Graduate School
The Wellington ICT Graduate School is a partnership between Victoria University of Wellington, WelTec and Whitireia, and has been established to set the standard for advanced ICT education in Wellington.
Students are able to engage with ICT firms, start-ups, and our tech ecosystem to develop talent, ideas and connections that can fuel growth, across the region and New Zealand.
Programmes have been designed with input from and engagement with industry, and combined with academic rigour our graduates are ready to be future leaders in this sector.
